Lingual braces are placed behind the upper and lower teeth and are virtually undetectable. Originally developed over
twenty five years ago they fell out of favor with most orthodontists due to the difficulty of working with them. Dr.
Daigle has used these brackets since their inception and has a good deal of experience with this technique.
The newest types of lingual brackets are smaller and self-legating and should reduce some of the speech difficulties
initially experienced by some patients. Expect treatment to take longer and to be more costly with this type of system.
Although not a solution for everyone they are a viable alternative for some of our adult patients looking for the
ultimate in invisible braces.
